I am! Electricity

To kick off our electricity unit, we had Mr. Fly from Alabama Power Company come visit our class!  He taught us how electricity moves throughout power lines and into our homes.  Most importantly, we learned some very useful safety tips! 

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have had a great few last weeks.  We have managed to stay focused and I have been very proud.  The last few days have been so much fun as we have researched the first Thanksgiving and compared it to how we celebrate Thanksgiving today.  Did you know there was no turkey on the table at the first Thanksgiving? We know now!  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families!  I am thankful to work with such wonderful students, parents, and at such a great school! Happy Thanksgiving!

Our Representative

Our Alabama House of Representative of the 46th District, Paul DeMarco, came to speak to the fourth grade today! He shared with us about his job and how he goes to Montgomery to vote bills into laws for our state. We are so grateful that he was able to come visit us!

Scientific Method

This week we have been studying about the Scientific Method and how we use this process to answer questions about the world around us. Today, we used the Scientific Method to answer our question, "How many drops of water can fit on a penny?"

 

 

Our First Day

Wow!  We had a fantastic first day in the fourth grade!  We met new friends and even had a little fun as you can see by our silly picture!  I am so excited about this great group of children.

 

 

Welcome Back!

I am so excited for the new school year to begin! I'm looking forward to a GREAT year of learning! I cannot wait to meet and get to know each and every one of my new students!
